Softball hitting and fielding instructor
Selena Serna, a San Diego native and graduate of Hilltop High School in Chula Vista, CA, brings a wealth of knowledge through her high softball IQ and deep understanding of the game. While starting with baseball at a young age, Selena’s transition to the game of softball was smooth as she continued to grow and develop as a player after almost 17 years of playing. From playing on all-star teams at a young age, she continued her softball career as a 4-year starter on her high school’s varsity team. During her junior and senior year of high school, she earned the position as team captain and was presented with different recognitions throughout her high school career. As a California softball player, during the offseason from high school ball, Selena played travel ball softball for San Diego Batbusters-Mike Fox. After high school, she continued her softball career and passion to serve her country at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. Although having her freshman and sophomore season interrupted by the global pandemic, Selena was a 4-year starter during her time at the academy. During her junior and senior year, she earned second team NEWMAC Softball All-Conference. After graduating from the academy, Selena commissioned as an officer in the United States Coast Guard. On her off time, she plays in Slow-pitch softball leagues such as the ALL-NAVY softball team.
